Desert Speedtrap Starring Road Runner & Wile E. Coyote was released in 1994 for the Sega Master System console and Sega Game Gear color handheld system.
The Road Runner must outwit the Coyote, while maintaining his strength by eating birdseed. While the premise is not unlike that of some other popular games for Game Gear and Mega Drive/Genesis, this platform game suffered in popularity due to difficulties encountered in controlling the Road Runner.
The desert graphics are well-suited to the Sega Game Gear screen and reasonably faithful to the Looney Tunes series upon which it is based. The sound effects include the expected "beep beep" and pecking noises of the Road Runner.
Desert Speedtrap was also released for the Sega Master System console.
The games are similar to each other, except for color palette and size adjustments.
